Gu Yi, a recent graduate working as a live streamer, gets fired for refusing orders and returns to her sleepy hometown, Nanxun. Feeling lost and pressured by her family, she drifts aimlessly—until she meets Shen Zhiyu, owner of Wangjianglou Restaurant. Their conversations inspire her to rediscover her roots. Observing the rise in local tourism, Gu Yi decides to open a Chinese-style B&B and live-streams her entrepreneurial journey under the account “You Did That on Purpose.” After accidentally falling asleep mid-stream and going viral, she throws herself into the project. Her B&B’s elegant design and online buzz attract city tourists seeking a peaceful retreat. Partnering with Shen, Gu Yi begins sending guests home with cultural gifts from his restaurant. Working together, they fall in love. With Shen’s photographer friend, they stage photos blending traditional paper-cut art into Gu Yi’s makeup, and their couple photos in a red qipao go viral. When Xu Rusheng, a creative director from Shanghai and Shen’s old classmate, proposes collaboration, Gu Yi accepts—despite Xu’s obvious interest in Shen. Through jealousy and hard work, she completes the project successfully. In the end, Shen confesses his love, and they host a water-town wedding, blending romance, tradition, and modern entrepreneurship in their quiet hometown life.
