In the height of summer, Gu Changge accepted a secret mission, hiding his identity to wander through Daxia and cultivate countless talents for the country. However, this caused him to disappear for years, delaying his relationship and marriage with Su Wanqing. Eight years later, Gu Changge retired after completing his mission and returned to his hometown. His former lover, Su Wanqing, had misunderstood him due to his departure eight years ago. Influenced by her secretary Lin Qingqing and her suitor Feng Zihao, she decided to break up with Gu Changge. Learning that Su Wanqing was about to participate in the school-building project of ""Education Harbor"" hosted by his student Yao Yunling, Gu Changge planned to prove his identity at the project's inauguration ceremony. At the venue, Gu Changge was mocked and ridiculed—no one believed his identity. Su Wanqing and others even forced him to leave. In front of everyone, Gu Changge unveiled the school's plaque, revealing it was actually named after him. Still, others refused to believe him and continued to sneer at him—until Yao Yunling appeared to vouch for him. Su Wanqing accepted that Gu Changge was Yao Yunling's teacher but still refused to forgive him. Meanwhile, Feng Zihao began threatening Su Wanqing by exploiting her father Su Hu's illness. Su Hu suffered from a severe disease, and only a few doctors worldwide could perform the related surgery. Feng Zihao claimed to know a renowned Japanese doctor, Ueyama Masao. Gu Changge dismissed the Japanese doctor, stating he could perform the surgery himself, but was again mocked by Feng Zihao. Gu Changge contacted his student, the divine physician Duan Junhang, and decided to operate on Su Hu personally. At the hospital, everyone scoffed at Gu Changge—until Duan Junhang arrived and acknowledged Gu Changge as his teacher. Gaining Su Wanqing's trust, Gu Changge successfully completed the surgery, embarrassing Feng Zihao and Ueyama.
