Escape from Blind Mountain
On a stormy night Li Mengping gives birth painfully in Blind Mountain village. The moment it’s a girl her husband who bought her and her mother-in-law scorn the child naming her Niu Zhaodi though. Mengping calls her Zhaodi. Holding her daughter she tries to escape at midnight but gets caught by Niu Dazhuang and her mother-in-law. The village chief arrives with others blocks her and punishes her with a branding iron under village rules then locks her in a dark room .Trapped inside Mengping remembers the life she should’ve had—her mother is Shen Mingzhu chairwoman of the wealthy Shen Group—but she was sold into the mountains by her boyfriend Even after having Dazhuang’s child her suffering continues. She refuses to accept this fate for her daughter’s sake her one hope. Her clever daughter Zhaodi promises to take her mother out of the mountains when she grows up. Fifteen years later Zhaodi gets into university excitedly shares the news but Dazhuang beats her forbids her from going tells her to stay home marry and earn a dowry for her brother Mengping secretly helps Zhaodi escape telling her to find Shen Mingzhu with a jade pendant. After Zhaodi runs, the villagers turn on Mengping for letting her go and the chief tortures her under village rules. Zhaodi makes it out finds her grandmother and returns with Assistant Lin to save her mother. They face threats from the chief but Shen Mingzhu arrives in time delivering justice to the wrongdoers. After struggles both mother and daughter finally leave the mountains turn the oppressive village into a resort and see the villains punished. The family of three reunites at last.
