Dragon in the Fury of the Sea
The drama tells the story of Wei Zongyi, a leader of overseas Chinese merchants in Southeast Asia in the early 20th century. After his father was persecuted by Japanese invaders, he swore to take revenge. He organized the "Xiaolong Hall" to safeguard the peace and stability of Southeast Asia. Later, he returned to Xia to investigate the truth behind his father’s death. Upon discovering that his father’s death was linked to the Japanese invaders, Wei Zongyi resolved to resist the foreign aggressors. On his journey to find anti-Japanese organizations, he rescued his respected teacher He Jiangchuan but soon found himself trapped in a life-threatening predicament. Fortunately, he was saved by a brother-and-sister pair of hunters. However, troubles also emerged within his own family. Upholding justice above family ties, Wei Zongyi took the painful step of eliminating the traitorous members to cleanse his family. He exposed the conspiracy between Japanese businessmen and his family’s enemies, winning the support of other prominent families. Together, they joined forces to fight against the Japanese forces in the region. In the end, under Wei Zongyi’s leadership, they successfully wiped out the "Black Dragon Society"—a Japanese ultra-rightist organization that attempted to annex the Xuanzhou Chamber of Commerce—and thus defended the dignity of Xia.
